Funding

The very early stages of Phase I of the ARDAC Study were achieved through the support from The School of Public Health at the University of Sydney and the Nephrology department at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. The early success achieved by Rita Williams and others in establishing the study in the New England area of New South Wales lead to a successful National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Clinical Research Excellence Grant in 2002 which commenced in 2003.

Finally we acknowledge the significant volunteer work carried out by many New South Wales Aboriginal Education Officers or Aboriginal Health Officers who have been amazing in their support of the study by assisting with participant recruitment and follow-up.

We would like to acknowledge the financial support provided by the National Health and Medical Research Centre for Clinical Excellence in Renal Medicine, the Financial Markets Foundation for Children, and the support for ARDAC PhD candidates via NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarships.
