Future Directions

It has been suggested by a number of Aboriginal Education Officers who have supported the ARDAC study, that the development of kidney health education resources to teach students about chronic kidney disease (CKD) would be an appropriate way for the study to give back to the communities involved.

The team from the ARDAC study plan to develop educational resources providing information about chronic kidney disease that can be accessed through its website. The resources will aim to address the need for further education and awareness about chronic kidney disease and how it can be prevented and will be accessible to students, teachers and health professionals, as well as the wider community. Theses resources will help raise community awareness and health literacy so as to empower communities around kidney, heart and diabetes health.Community participation will be a key aspect of planning, implementation and evaluation of this project.
